A Pretoria High Court has given the go ahead after Reeva Steenkamp’s father Barry Steenkamp asked for pictures of the slain 28-year-old who was “accidentally” shot dead by her boyfriend Oscar Pistorius on 14 February 2013 to be made public.
During the Wednesday 15th June trial, Oscar’s defence counsel Barry Roux told the Olympic gold medalist to remove his artificial limbs to prove to the court that he really deserves some leniency.

After that, Barry (the victim’s father) said of Oscar:

“I don’t want to say that he must go to the maximum or whatever it is, but he has to pay for it. June (Barry’s wife) has forgiven. She feels it right in her heart to forgive Oscar. But then you must understand by forgiving like that, it still does not exonerate you from the crime that you committed.”

He then asked the court to release pictures of Reeva’s dead body to the public.
