Sick ISIS supporters have taken to social media to celebrate the Barcelona terror attack . One twister ISIS-supporting Twitter account said: “To all Spanish people, the time has now come to pay for everything that your government has done to innocent people in our countries.”
And a sick rant circulated on instant messaging app Telegram and seen by Mirror Online said: “Horror, panic and anticipation. “The worshipers of the Cross no longer feel safe and secure in their homes, individual wolves are still watching and waiting for the right time to cover your heads and shed your blood.”
It is understood jihadist supporters are using #thecrucifixionofthecrusaders as they spread their hateful words online.
Meanwhile, the man suspected of hiring a van used in the Barcelona terror attack has been identified as Driss Oukabir. The man is alleged to have rented the van used in the attack in the town of Santa Perpetua de la Mogada.
Thirteen people are feared dead and dozens more injured are believed to have been injured in the attack, which has been followed by an armed stand-off at a restaurant.
Local media reported that the driver of the white van fled on foot and is being hunted by police.
Officials have requested that metro and train stations shut while rescuers deal with the emergency, and they urged people to stay away from the centre of the city.
Police confirmed that several people were injured in a “massive crash” and an investigation is underway.
Spanish media reported that 20 people were injured and there were unconfirmed reports that two people were killed.
